Guided Tours

Guided tours worth booking: walks led by people who know the streets, and the bus, river and cycling tours that earn their fare. Each is drawn on the map as the ground it covers, from where it meets.

Tate Britain Tour

Five hundred years of British painting with an arts critic choosing the route.

Every Monday, 14:30Walking

Tate Britain holds the national collection of British art, assembled first by Henry Tate, who made his money refining sugar and invented the sugar cube. The tour is led by the arts critic Rick Jones and goes for the argument rather than the circuit - what British painting was for at each point, and which handful of pictures repay standing in front of. Gallery entry is free; the walk is not.
