Guided Tours

Guided tours worth booking: walks led by people who know the streets, and the bus, river and cycling tours that earn their fare. Each is drawn on the map as the ground it covers, from where it meets.

Thames Sightseeing: Brunel's River

A river trip rather than a walk, with a guide on the boat as far as Brunel's tunnel.

Thu, Fri, Sat & Sun, 10:00River

The Thames was the reason London is where it is, and the stretch between Westminster and Rotherhithe carries most of the evidence - the bridges, the wharves, the rebuilt south bank, and the shaft where Marc and Isambard Brunel drove the first tunnel under a navigable river. This one goes by boat, which is a different proposition from the walking tours and a much better way to see how the city faces the water.
