The Ghost Bus Tours

A black 1960s Routemaster with actors on board, doing the haunted version of the sightseeing tour.

Bus

The conceit is that the bus itself is the attraction: a Routemaster painted black, a conductor in character, and seventy-five minutes of performance between the stops rather than a recorded commentary. The route is the standard one - Trafalgar Square, the Palace, Westminster Abbey, Downing Street, St Paul's, the Tower, across Tower Bridge, the Shard, the Eye - retold as unmarked burial grounds, haunted palaces and what is underneath the fountains.

It is played for laughs as much as for fright, and it is the only tour on this list where the vehicle is the point. Anyone who wants the history straight should take one of the walks instead.
