Guided tours worth booking: walks led by people who know the streets, and the bus, river and cycling tours that earn their fare. Each is drawn on the map as the ground it covers, from where it meets.
The Gherkin, the Cheesegrater, Lloyd's, and the money that put them there.
Every Saturday, 14:00Walking
The eastern City is where the towers are, and the walk is about what they are for as much as what they look like: insurance, shipping, finance, and the reason a market in marine risk built a building with its plumbing on the outside. Lloyd's, the Gherkin and the Cheesegrater all in a few hundred yards, with the medieval street plan still underneath them.
Adult £20, students and seniors £15, children £5. Does not run from 8 November to the end of February.
Runs to a regular schedule — check or book before setting out.
