Guided Tours

Guided tours worth booking: walks led by people who know the streets, and the bus, river and cycling tours that earn their fare. Each is drawn on the map as the ground it covers, from where it meets.

The National Gallery Tour

From the Wilton Diptych to the Sunflowers, with somebody choosing which thirty pictures.

Every Friday, 14:15Walking

The National Gallery holds the national collection of European painting from the thirteenth century to 1900, hung more or less chronologically, which means a walk through it is a walk through the argument about what painting was for. The tour picks a route and a few dozen pictures - Leonardo, Rembrandt, Velazquez, Van Gogh - rather than attempting the lot. Gallery entry is free.
