A basement in Chelsea with live jazz every night, where you have to eat to drink.
Jazz
At 606 Club.
The 606 has been running since 1976 and plays almost entirely British musicians, two sets a night, every night. The thing to know before you go: it is licensed as a restaurant rather than a bar, so non-members can only be served alcohol with a meal - a main course on Friday and Saturday, two starters the rest of the week. You can come for coffee without eating, but ring first.
Doors at 18:30 and music from 20:00 to 22:30 on Monday to Thursday and Sunday, £18 music charge; doors at 19:00 and music from 21:00 to 23:45 on Friday and Saturday, £23. Sunday lunch is £16, with music from 13:30. Everyone is welcome whether or not they are a member; members get the discount and the better seats.
