Vertical farm tour

Three quarters of an hour inside London's largest indoor farm, which is in a warehouse in Canada Water.

Guided tourScience & nature

At Corner Corner.

Harvest London built the Plant Room into Corner Corner: crops grown in stacked trays under controlled light, water and humidity, no pesticides, cropping all year rather than in season. What comes out of it goes to the food stalls a few metres away and to restaurants across London, which is the argument being made - that a city can grow a useful share of its own salad without any soil at all.

The tour is three quarters of an hour and covers how the system works, what it does to waste and to the emissions of getting food into a city, and the plant cycles behind it. Schools, companies and charities are taken as well as the public. Late morning, and the spaces are limited.
