I Fagiolini: Monteverdi's 1610 Vespers

The 1610 Vespers with cornetts and sackbuts, launching the recording.

Classical

At Kings Place.

Robert Hollingworth directs I Fagiolini with the English Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble, in the week their new recording of the Vespers comes out. Cornetts and sackbuts rather than modern brass, which is what Monteverdi wrote for and what makes the big choruses sound like they are coming out of stone rather than a concert hall. Part of the group's fortieth anniversary residency. 19:30.
