Two halls in an office building behind King's Cross, and the one concert room in London built inside a single tree.

It opened in 2008 as the first new public concert hall built in central London since the Barbican, tucked into the ground floor and basement of an office block on the canal. Hall One is lined with veneer cut from one 500-year-old German oak, sliced so the grain runs continuously round the room, which is a piece of showing-off that also happens to sound very good.
The programming is unusually broad for a classical room - early music, contemporary composition, jazz, folk and spoken word - and it is home to the London Sinfonietta and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
