Omer Sercan Ipekcioglu grew up on Eminem and 50 Cent and built something out of them that is unmistakably Turkish; Muptezhel was the first album. He was arrested and tried in Turkey in 2018 over drug references in his lyrics, and acquitted, which is part of why the audience for him is what it is.
