London's stages and concert rooms: the West End houses and the playhouses that make their own shows, the grand halls, the churches with a musical life, the jazz basements, the comedy clubs, the clubs proper, and the rooms above pubs where things start. What is on is listed under each venue, and in What's On.
What is on at them this week is in What's On: Performance
A former garment factory on Bethnal Green Road with three cinema screens and a stage.
Gigs
Rich Mix opened in 2006 in a leather-garment factory, as an arts centre for an east London that had not had one. Three cinema screens, a live room, rehearsal and studio space, and a programme that leans towards the musics of the communities around it — South Asian, East African, Caribbean, Turkish — alongside film, spoken word and comedy. A charity, and cheaper than most of what surrounds it.
