A South Carolina plantation in 1862, with the war two counties away.

Two times in one cabin. In 1862, on a plantation at Bullock Creek in South Carolina, Ginnie Good raises five children in a building that will outlive all of them; today the same cabin is a fashionable Airbnb, where a pregnant Black woman uses conjure to reach her ancestors and ask what she cannot ask anyone living. Joy Nesbitt's first play at the Royal Court, directed by Tatenda Shamiso. Upstairs, £15 to £30, ages 14 and up, with a post-show talk with the writer on 13 October.
