David Mellor designed the national traffic light system and the bus shelter as well as the cutlery that made his name, and the Sloane Square shop has sold his own cutlery alongside carefully chosen kitchen equipment since 1969.

The cutlery is still made at the firm's own factory in Derbyshire. The shop is the best place in London to buy a knife, a pan or a corkscrew you will not replace.
