A Byzantine-looking Christian Science church of 1907, emptied of its congregation and turned into a 950-seat hall.

Robert Fellowes Chisholm built it in 1907 for a Christian Science congregation of up to 1,400, in a style he had picked up designing public buildings in Madras - a squat campanile and round-headed arches that look transplanted from somewhere warmer. The congregation left after planning permission to alter it was refused in 1996, and it reopened as a concert hall in 2004.
It is the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's home, and the room seats 950 - large enough for a full orchestra, small enough that the back row is still close. The Proms run their chamber concerts here.
