A new production of Verdi's masked-ball opera, where a conspiracy and a love affair run into each other.

Verdi's opera - the title is Italian for The Masked Ball - in which forbidden love and political conspiracy converge, hidden feelings are exposed and suspicion turns deadly. This is a new staging for The Royal Opera and the house debut of its director, Philipp Stölzl. Jakub Hrůša conducts, with Charles Castronovo, Malin Byström, Aleksei Isaev, Anita Rachvelishvili and Kseniia Nikolaieva.

Sung in Italian with English surtitles - a running translation on screens above the stage and around the auditorium - and two hours fifty minutes including one interval.
