English National Ballet: Rhythm Riot

A triple bill with no tutus, no tiaras and no story in the first piece.

At Sadler's Wells.

Three works in an evening. Balanchine's Symphony in Three Movements runs twenty-one minutes on Stravinsky's percussion with thirty-two dancers in leotards and ponytails and no plot at all — the neo-classical style Balanchine built out of speed and precision. Then the world premiere of Jae Man Joo's Auguries of Innocence, drawn from Blake's poetry and Pēteris Vasks's music. Tickets from £15.
