Art Deco on Whitehall, turned into two studios for sixteen years and put back as one 630-seat room in 2021.
West EndPlayhousesWorth it for the building
Edward A. Stone built it in 1930 with interiors by Marc-Henri and Laverdet, and for seventy years it was the Whitehall Theatre - known for farce, and for sitting among the government departments on Whitehall. From 2004 it ran as two small studio spaces instead.
Foster Wilson Architects put it back as a single auditorium of 630 seats and it reopened in July 2021. Historically protected, and it takes plays and transfers.
