Richard Wilson bought the Arco Trent, an 800-ton ocean-going sand dredger sixty metres long, and kept an eighth of it: a nine-metre vertical section through the living quarters and the engine room, left open to the weather and standing in the Thames off the peninsula. The pool table is still in there. Made for the Millennium in 2000, and Wilson meant the cut to echo the Meridian, which slices through this ground the same way.
