QUEERCIRCLE began in 2016 as an answer to the loss of 58 per cent of London's LGBTQ+ venues, and took a unit in the Design District when that was built. The gallery shows commissioned work by queer artists and costs nothing to walk into. Around it run workshops for people between 16 and 25, reading and writing groups, and a community library whose shelves are filled by donation - books, zines, recordings, recipes - so the collection is whatever its readers think belongs in it. It is a charity, and puts arts, health and social action on the same footing rather than treating the last two as outreach.
