Away from the week's releases the Electric runs a programme of its own - films from the whole history of the medium, seasons put together round a theme, and one-off events. It is the reason to check what is on at a cinema whose building, of 1911, is a large part of why anyone goes.
The seats are leather armchairs, sofas and beds, and the bar shuts when the main feature starts.
