It began as an apothecary in 1790 and is still a working chemist as well as a maker of shaving soaps, colognes and skin preparations. The shop fittings are Victorian and the dispensary is at the back.
The Original Pick-Me-Up, a bottled hangover remedy, has been sold here since the nineteenth century and is still on the counter.
