One of a network of Czech Centres the state runs in about two dozen cities, this one on Kensington Palace Gardens - the private road of embassies behind Kensington Palace - in the Czech embassy's own building, a Brutalist block of the 1970s that is among the more surprising things on the street.
It shows Czech art and design, teaches Czech, and puts on concerts and talks, but the thing it is best known for is Made in Prague, the festival of Czech film it has run in London each November since the 1990s, screening at cinemas around the city rather than here.
