Wild Arts: An Evening of Opera at Barts North Wing

Handel to Sondheim, semi-staged for four singers and a string quintet in the Great Hall.

Opera

At St Bartholomew's Hospital Museum.

Wild Arts strings arias and ensembles by Handel, Mozart, Rossini and Britten together with songs by Richard Rodgers and Stephen Sondheim, and hangs the lot on a new story of jealousy, comedy and idealism directed by Guido Martin-Brandis. Four singers, a string quintet, 75 minutes of music. The hall was designed by James Gibbs in the 1730s and is reached up Hogarth's painted stair, and the room does as much as the singing.
