Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

The 2012 park, grown in: wildflower meadow, waterways and the venues still in use.

Five hundred acres built on the Lea valley for 2012 and now a park in its own right, with the advantage that everything in it was designed at once. The South Park gardens are planted for a long season and the North Park is closer to a wetland — reedbed, wet woodland, otters and kingfishers on the Lea. The Aquatics Centre and the velodrome are open to anyone who books, the ArcelorMittal Orbit has a slide down it, and the waterways carry pedalos in summer.
