In the summer of 2015 the people who live nearby and the people who drink here bought the twenty-year lease between them, as shareholders. Islington registered it as an Asset of Community Value in August 2021, agreeing that it furthers the social wellbeing of the area.
Being free of tie is what that bought: five handpumps, four of them rotating guests, and a cider. There is no kitchen, so the bar keeps the menus of the restaurants round about and they deliver to the table. Blues, folk, indie and unscheduled jams. North London's runner-up Pub of the Year in 2025.
