Quaglino's opened in 1929 and has been part of how London goes out ever since: a sweeping staircase, a room big enough to lose people in, live music and a bar that runs late. The kitchen does contemporary brasserie cooking, and the turbot Mountbatten is taken from the dish served at the wedding of Elizabeth II.
