The Barbary is named for the Barbary Coast, and the cooking runs along it - North Africa through the eastern Mediterranean, mostly over fire. Everyone sits at one horseshoe counter, twenty-four of them, facing the kitchen. A larger room followed in Notting Hill; this one came first.
