The pub below has been the writers' and painters' house in Soho for the better part of a century, and the portraits upstairs are of the people who used it - Dylan Thomas, Brendan Behan and Lucian Freud among them. The dining room holds seven tables and a menu written out by hand each day: calves' brains in brown butter, a Middlewhite pork chop with coco beans.
