Princess Louise, the sculptor among Victoria's children, made the marble for the Golden Jubilee of 1887 and it was unveiled in 1893 on the east lawn of Kensington Palace, facing the Round Pond: the young Queen in her coronation robes, before the widow's black. It is the palace's front door for most visitors and the one image of Victoria in London that is not a matron.
