The Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, opened in 1884 for the Oratorian fathers whom John Henry Newman brought to England, and the largest Catholic church in London until Westminster Cathedral was built. Its nave is the widest in England after St Paul's. The twelve marble apostles along it are Giuseppe Mazzuoli's, carved for Siena Cathedral in the 1680s and bought when Siena took them out. The choir sings the Latin Mass.
