Lunch Hour Lecture: the architecture of UCL's Bloomsbury campus

Colin Thom of the Survey of London on the buildings behind the portico.

TalkHistoryFree

At University College London.

William Wilkins's neoclassical front of 1827 is the one everybody photographs, and behind it the campus is a century and a half of everything else: Victorian terraces swallowed whole, 1900s laboratories, brutalist slabs, the Bartlett's remodelled 22 Gordon Street. Colin Thom, who wrote the Survey of London volume on Bloomsbury, takes the lot. Free, in the Wilkins Building.
