History
At Fortune Theatre.
SpitLip's musical about the 1943 operation that floated a corpse with false papers off the Spanish coast to mislead the Germans about Sicily. It opened at the New Diorama on 14 May 2019 for a month, went through Southwark Playhouse and Riverside Studios, and reached the Fortune in the spring of 2023. Five actors play about eighty parts between them, swapping gender and rank mid-scene, which is the joke and also the argument about who actually did the work.
