Terraces
John Palmer Roupell laid out the street in the 1820s for artisans, and almost nothing has been altered since: yellow stock brick, doors straight onto the pavement, chimney stacks in a row, gas-style lamps. It survived the Blitz and the developers and is now a conservation area, which is why film crews use it whenever they need Victorian London. The King's Arms on the corner is the pub for it.
