Bute Street is short, pedestrianised and already full of good food shops, and on Saturdays the market lands on top of it. The advice is to arrive early if you want the south-coast fish or shellfish from Dorset Fish. Beyond that: a free-range sausage sandwich from Parsons Ridge, vegetables from Perry Court, Akiki Organics, Wild Country Organics and Brambletye, game in season, Fosse Meadows poultry, bread and pastries from Olivier's Bakery, Artisan Foods and Honeypie, charcuterie, fresh pasta and ready-to-eat food from Le Moulin.
