Constantinople to Istanbul: One City, Two Empires

Sixteen hundred years of one city, Byzantine and Ottoman, in the V&A's first show on it.

The first UK exhibition to take Constantinople and Istanbul as one continuous story: a 10th-century Byzantine casket carved with myths, an 11th-century gold pendant, Ottoman manuscripts, embroidered textiles, a 17th-century processional scroll and an instrument from around 1750. In Galleries 38 and 39; tickets are not on sale yet and the closing date has not been published.
