The first UK exhibition devoted to Elsa Schiaparelli, from the 1920s to Daniel Roseberry's current couture. The heart of it is the Surrealist years: the 1938 Skeleton Dress and Tears Dress made with Dalí, the Cocteau collaborations, embellished evening coats and jewellery, and the Man Ray and Cecil Beaton photographs that sold the idea that dress designing was an art rather than a trade. Made with Maison Schiaparelli, in the Sainsbury Gallery.
