Guided Tours

Guided tours worth booking: walks led by people who know the streets, and the bus, river and cycling tours that earn their fare. Each is drawn on the map as the ground it covers, from where it meets.

The British Museum Tour

Two hours in the British Museum with somebody choosing what to look at.

Every Wednesday, 14:15Walking

The museum holds eight million objects and shows perhaps eighty thousand, which is the problem a guide solves. The walk starts at Russell Square, goes in together, and takes a route through the galleries that makes an argument rather than a circuit - what the collection is, how it was assembled, and which dozen things repay standing in front of. Museum entry is free; the walk is not.
