St Chad's Place is a dead-end cobbled alley behind King's Cross and Jamboree is most of the way down it, which is why people who know it are fond of telling you how to find it. Inside is low and cluttered - rugs, lamps, a stage at one end - and the booking is deliberately wide: jazz, gypsy swing, klezmer, Balkan brass, Latin, and dancing rather than sitting. It runs something most days, afternoons as well as nights, and a good deal of it is free or costs whatever you put in the bucket.
