Agatha Christie's play opened at the Ambassadors next door in November 1952 and moved across the alley to St Martin's in March 1974 without missing a performance. It had passed 29,500 performances here by early 2024. Guests are asked at the end not to tell anybody who did it, and the remarkable thing is how well that has held for seventy years.
