Moses Boyd

The drummer who took London jazz into sound system culture, with his first album in six years.

Jazz

At KOKO.

Moses Boyd was shortlisted for the Mercury for Dark Matter and has spent a decade making the case that jazz, dub, grime and Caribbean rhythm are one conversation rather than four. Songs For Sinners is the first record since, and it is vocal-led and about faith - gospel choirs, 808s and soundsystem weight, which is not where a jazz drummer's second album usually goes.
