Hejira came out in 1976, the point at which Joni Mitchell had stopped writing folk songs and started writing something nobody had a name for, with Jaco Pastorius playing bass over it. The band named after it is seven players led by the guitarist Pete Oxley and fronted by Hattie Whitehead, who sings the parts accurately and plays guitar the way Mitchell did. Part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, and the launch of the band's second album.
