Oxygene at 50

Jean-Michel Jarre's synthesiser record rewritten for strings, winds and live improvisation.

At Jazz Cafe.

Oxygene came out in 1976 and is the album usually credited with making synthesisers sound warm rather than clinical, which is most of why the electronic music that followed sounds the way it does. The London Ambient Orchestra take it apart and rebuild it with an acoustic ensemble alongside the electronics, improvising through it, so it comes out slower and rougher than the record.

19:00 to 22:30. Standing £25, restaurant seats £25 to £70. Eighteen and over.
