Aaron S. Watkin and Arielle Smith's production for English National Ballet is the company's Christmas season at the Coliseum, and it is danced to Tchaikovsky played live by the English National Ballet Philharmonic rather than to tape, which is the difference between the score sounding like a music box and sounding like the thing Tchaikovsky wrote.
Two hours with one interval, recommended for ages five and over. There is one family matinee on 9 January that admits children under five, which the rest of the run does not.
