Women of the world unite: the UN Decade for Women

Fifty years after 1975 was declared International Women's Year, three historians of transnational feminism on what it produced.

Lecture / talkFree

At London School of Economics.

The Women's Library at LSE built an exhibition around the anniversary; this roundtable is the argument that came out of it. Sumi Madhok, Durba Mitra and Imaobong Umoren take the decade's conferences seriously as political events - the coalitions they made, the ones they broke, and what feminists in different parts of the world were actually asking each other for.
