The curators and conservators on what came out of the Society's own fifteenth-century paintings.
Lecture / talk
At Society of Antiquaries of London.
The Society owns a set of fifteenth-century panels showing scenes from the life of Saint Etheldreda, the Anglo-Saxon princess who founded Ely, and they have just been through a long research and conservation project ending in an exhibition at the Sainsbury Centre in Norwich. The people who did the work - curators, conservators, researchers - talk about what the paintings turned out to be hiding. A lunchtime lecture.
