A British quartet named after a Mendelssohn oratorio, on twenty-eight years together.
Classical
At Wigmore Hall.
The quartet marks Sally Beamish's seventieth birthday with two of the three quartets they commissioned from her, each written off one of Schumann's - Reed Stanzas and Nine Fragments - with Schumann's own A minor, Op. 41 No. 1, between them. Their violinist Donald Grant closes on a set of folk songs of his own. 19:30, £18 to £40.
