Three pieces the company has held onto. Concerto is MacMillan set to Shostakovich's second piano concerto, and its slow movement is used in ballet studios everywhere as a lesson in line. A Month in the Country compresses Turgenev's play into forty minutes of Chopin without losing the plot. Raymonda Act III is Nureyev's arrangement of the last act of a ballet whose first two acts are rarely worth the trouble, which is why it is danced on its own.
