Interstellar in 70mm

Nolan's space film run off a 70mm print, on one of the few London screens still able to show one.

At Prince Charles Cinema.

Christopher Nolan shot Interstellar on 65mm and finished it for 70mm, and the Prince Charles is one of a handful of cinemas in Britain that can still thread the format. What it buys you is resolution and grain rather than sharpness: the dust storms and the ice planet hold detail that a digital copy flattens, and the projector noise is part of the room. Matthew McConaughey flies through a wormhole to find humanity a new planet while his daughter ages without him; Michael Caine's physicist has a secret about the mathematics.
