David Lynch's vampire commission of 1994 in a new 4K restoration, its first London showing.
Lynch asked Michael Almereyda for a cheap genre film and got a Dracula in downtown Manhattan: estranged vampire twins reunited by their father's death at the hands of a Van Helsing played by Peter Fonda, with a young Jared Harris as the brother and Lynch himself on screen. Almereyda shot high-contrast black and white 35mm and cut in footage from a Fisher-Price toy camera, so the film keeps dissolving into grain. The restoration is of the director's cut, and the first night is its London premiere.
