The crowdfunded sequel nobody asked for, getting its first screening in Britain, with a recorded introduction from its director.
Rena Riffel played Penny in Paul Verhoeven's Showgirls, and fifteen years later wrote, directed, edited, produced and starred in a sequel made for thirty thousand dollars on consumer cameras and in borrowed hotel rooms. Penny hitchhikes from Las Vegas to Los Angeles to dance at a club called Stardancer and finds the city worse than the one she left. Riffel has recorded an introduction. It is programmed by Frowzy Films, a club for microbudget genre cinema that takes its subjects seriously, and this is the film's first showing in the United Kingdom.
